In celebration of New Jersey STEM Month 2026, Parsippany Hills High School (PHHS) hosted its first-ever Maker Day, bringing together students, educators, and industry professionals for a dynamic day of hands-on STEM exploration. The event reflected the school’s strong commitment to fostering creativity, collaboration, and real-world connections in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Throughout the day, students rotated through interactive stations featuring engineering design challenges, creative problem-solving tasks, and collaborative activities designed to spark curiosity and innovation. A highlight of the event was the involvement of industry partners, including the Picatinny STEM Program and H2M Architects + Engineers, who provided valuable insight into STEM careers through hands-on demonstrations and meaningful conversations.
Students explored a wide range of activities, from working with drones and T.I. Rovers to designing model sports stadiums, building magnetic and solar-powered cars, and creating slime and clay projects. They also tackled logic-based challenges that strengthened analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Maker Day created an inclusive and engaging environment where students of all experience levels could connect classroom learning to real-world applications—setting the stage for continued growth and future innovation at PHHS.
