Roxbury High School students enrolled in Roxbury’s 3 year aviation program visited all four elementary schools to teach all 4th grade students about drones. The program included an opportunity for participants to share what they know about drones. Multiple drones were available for students to learn about (DJI Neo, CoDrones, DJI Mini 3, DJI Mavic 3 Pro).
High school students led discussions on drone safety and how to fly a drone, before setting up an obstacle course for kids to fly through. The elementary students rotated through stations during a 45 minute session, getting an opportunity to put their piloting skills to the test. The event was filled with laughter and smiles as kids learned and explored. The high school students were equally excited to share their experience and teach their younger peers effective drone practices.
