STEM Explorations Family Night

Hosting Organization: Parsippany Hills High School

County: Morris

On April 4, 2025, Parsippany Hills High School hosted an incredible evening of discovery and connection at our first Family STEM Night. With students, families, educators, and professionals from across New Jersey in attendance, the event brought science, technology, engineering, and math to life in fun and inspiring ways.

The night featured over two dozen organizations showcasing the real-world impact of STEM. Students and families had the opportunity to interact with professionals from diverse fields — from medicine and AI to law enforcement and civil engineering.

Highlights included:
● Picatinny STEM, demonstrating innovations in military engineering and robotics
● Code Ninjas, showing kids how to code through interactive games
● National CSI Camp, giving a hands-on experience in forensic science
● AI Ager, offering insight into the role of AI in business and creativity
● Goryeb Children’s Hospital, showcasing pediatric specialties and tech-driven care

Other notable participants included the American Society of Civil Engineers, Atlantic Health System, Morris County Sheriff’s Office, Dynamic Foot & Ankle, and the U.S. Navy, among many others.

From elementary schoolers to high school seniors, students had a chance to explore future career paths and ask real professionals questions about their work. Many booths offered information on internships, job shadowing, mentorships, and even year-round opportunities. Younger students got hands-on with engaging activities, while older students explored paths to
college majors and careers. Whether it was coding a robot, analyzing fingerprints, or learning about medical imaging, the night helped make abstract concepts tangible.

Family STEM Night also emphasized how STEM careers touch every part of our daily lives. Local health professionals like Advance Rehabilitation Services, Out of the Box Physical Therapy, and Lewandowski Chiropractic shared how science supports healing and movement. Meanwhile, agencies like Morris County Mosquito Control highlighted how science and public service go hand in hand. It was also a great chance for families to connect with local organizations, learn about programs available in the community, and see how students can get involved outside the classroom.

Family STEM Night is more than an event—it’s a launchpad. It shows students what’s possible when they combine curiosity with opportunity. It brings the classroom into the real world and connects young minds with mentors who can help guide them forward.
