Now in its eleventh year, New Jersey Makers Day (NJMD) once again brought together makers of all ages for a day filled with creativity, curiosity, and community. On March 22 nd , at the North County Branch and Headquarters Libraries, attendees explored a wide range of hands-on activities while the South County Branch Library supplied Make & Take kits to be explored in the convenience of their home. The day included library projects, exhibitors, equipment demonstrators and over 50 volunteers, both adults and students!
Library Projects included learning to solder and create a light-up NJMD badge, families enjoyed assembling kalimba pianos and personalizing koozies with sublimation printing. The event also featured origami instruction, as well as button-making and goodie bag decorating led by student volunteers. One of the most popular activities this year was a laser-cut clock project,
where participants colored their cardboard clock and added clock mechanisms to make a working clock.
Beyond these hands-on activities, attendees had the chance to experience equipment demonstrations at the Headquarters branch including showcasing the tools available in the Makerspace.
