What Should We Observe in an NGSS Classroom? A Breakfast Workshop for Principals and other Administrators who observe STEM Teaching
May 16, 2019 @ 8:30 am - 1:00 pm
$40.00
A STEM Breakfast will be held to bring together principals, building administrators and other professionals who observe K-12 STEM teaching. The program will include an overview of the “Next Generation Science” classroom, explaining how science teaching and learning has shifted under the new standards, customized for those who may have limited background on the NGSS. Hands-on workshops will allow participants to experience the new standards as adult learners and reflect on how their teachers are changing their practice to align with this student-centered approach to teaching.
NJ State Science Coordinator, Michael Heinz, and colleagues from the Montclair State University and Rider University STEM education community will reflect on the challenges of implementation of the NJ Science Learning Standards and what success looks like in the classroom.
