Kean University Group Summer Scholars Research Program

The NJCSTM Group Summer Scholars Research Program (GSSRP) is a 6-week hands-on research experience aimed at attracting and developing talented students who are interested in pursuing an education in STEM. The GSSRP accepts rising 11th and 12th grade high school students, and first-year undergraduate students (Classes of 2019, 2020 & 2021).

Participants work alongside faculty, students and staff on cutting-edge research projects, conducting original and authentic experiments in Analytical Chemistry, Virtual Reality & Scientific Visualization, Microbiomes & Bioinformatics, Cancer Biology, Computational Mathematics and Modern Drug Discovery. Participants gain valuable technical skills and research experience and learn to work as part of a research team.

The program runs from July 8 – August 15, 2019 and applications are due March 15, 2019.

How many learners do you expect this event to impact? (Learners include, but are not limited to students, teachers, parents, community members etc.)
Up to 50 high school students will benefit from interactions with 6 faculty mentors and 12 university student research assistants.
