International Observe the Moon Night is an annual worldwide public event that encourages observation, appreciation and understanding of our Moon and its connection to NASA planetary science and exploration. The annual event connects scientists, educators and lunar enthusiasts from around the world.
The event at the Edelman Planetarium will be held from 7:00 until 9:30 p.m. and will include telescope observations, free planetarium shows at 8:30 and 9:00 p.m. and hands-on activities including Exploring Craters, Pocket Solar System, Hide and Seek Moon.
After the sun sets, head outside and catch a glimpse of the Moon. The students of Rowan University’s Physics and Astronomy Club will be in the observatory on the 4th floor of Science Hall with telescopes, providing a guided tour of the Moon, planets and other celestial objects for visitors.
