Delran STEM Ecosystem Alliance: STEM@Home Series

March 1 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Parents and students will collaborate with STEMbassadors in a challenge called Bubble Magic. The event is a virtual offering, including pre-made STEM@Home kits, provided by the STEMbassadors, who will work with the students, who completed challenges in their own Wednesday class time, to explore and experiment with the phenomena of bubble making. Related to the story The Wizard of Oz, we will explore the life of the story’s author, L. Frank Baum, both a success and a failure in his life, despite many challenges. By connecting the literature, to the phenomena, we will engage the students in exploring STEM as a challenge that can be overcome, just as L. Frank Baum did, to become a legend! Finally, we will promote the continued offerings we will have throughout this pandemic, because Delran STEM will not give up.

Goals:
To explore the phenomena of bubble creation through independent exploration and play despite a global pandemic.
To increase parent/family comfort by engaging their children in STEM, in a virtual presentation setting.
To develop a growth mindset by exploring the story of another pioneer, who refused to give up.
To increase parent/family understanding of the importance of STEM opportunities for their children, including scholarship opportunities and after school club offerings.
